Karla F. Makowicz

Karla was born in Decatur, IL on 26 Feb 1961, the daughter of Virgil and Elvira Will. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, attending St. Patrick’s Parochial school. She graduated from St. Teresa High School in 1979.

Karla married Michael T. Makowicz at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 12 Jun 1982. Both prioritized family above all else as they journeyed the world together as an Air Force couple, even tolerating repeat deployments while assigned to the USAFADS. Through it all, Karla was the glue that held the family together. Karla and Mike had been together for 45 years, recently celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversary.

Karla was an avid quilter, stitcher, flosser and delved into practically everything crafty, which eventually led her to employment and managerial positions with Joann Fabric.

A loving mother and grandmother, Karla is survived by her husband, Michael of Oklahoma City, their daughters, Nicolette Jeney her husband Dustin and their children Cheyenne, Karlee and Skyler of Harrah, OK; Amber Makowicz of Tallahassee, FL; Jacki Makowicz of Oklahoma City, OK; Kara Murphy and her husband Ethan of Moore, OK; Kathleen Makowicz of Moore, OK and Kristina Makowicz of Moore OK. She is also survived by her brother, six sisters and many more family and friends.

A memorial in Karla’s honor will be held at Bill Eisenhower Funeral Home at Sunny Lane in Del City, OK on 24 July 2025 at 10:00am. The family sincerely appreciates the nursing staff with SSM Health Midwest City and Midtown along with the staff at Integris Health Hospice House.
