

Lida Kerr (Ersteniuk) passed away on April 7, 2025 at the age of 73. She was born on January 24, 1952 in Goulburn, Australia and came to America in 1960 with her parents and two brothers. Her mother, Anna Ersteniuk, was born in Poland, and her father, Michael Ersteniuk, was born in the Ukraine.
On September 7, 1979, Lida married the love of her life, Steven Kerr, and together they raised their daughter, Mistie Swinford. They were married for 41 years until his passing in 2020.
Lida graduated from Choctaw High School. In her younger years, Lida did some modeling in Oklahoma. She also worked for a Denim Company called Guy James in the early ‘70s. Later, Lida worked as a secretary for the Journal Newspaper in Midwest City, where she met her husband, Steven. She became skilled at shorthand writing and was great with calculating numbers in her head. In her later years, she was a homemaker and took care of her family.
Lida was a devoted Christian who was very passionate about her relationship with God. She loved cooking, especially Polish dishes. She was known for her Christmas pumpkin bread and homemade roast. She loved playing board games, crossword puzzles, spending time outdoors, planting flowers and maintaining her garden every year. She was an animal lover and would always help if she saw an animal in need of care. She passed that trait on to her daughter, Mistie. She always remembered to send cards to her loved ones for birthdays, anniversaries, and important events. She was deeply loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Kerr; parents Michael and Anna Ersteniuk; and her brother, Michael Ersteniuk Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Mistie Swinford; brother Peter Ersteniuk and sister-in-law (lifelong friend) Jo Ersteniuk; sister-in-law Carolyn Ersteniuk; brother-in-law Clark Kerr and sister-in-law Janet Kerr; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
A visitation for Lida will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
