Lillie Faye Deaton passed at 7:15 pm on December 12, 2013 to tend better fields. She was born on September 4, 1922 to Winfred and Jennie Hummel in Moore, Oklahoma and was one of six children. She attended Schwartz school and as a teenager, she worked as a milk maid for Townleys Dairy where she delivered milk in a horse drawn carriage. Lillie married, Criss, on January 5, 1944 and from this union raised two children, Gus and Dorothy Deaton. Criss and Lillie grew their own
garden and raised cattle on their farm where Lillie continued to live until her very last days. She enjoyed working on the farm and for years was known for growing great sweet potatoes, okra, tomatoes, cucumbers and watermelons and sold them to local grocers. She very much enjoyed activities in The Red Hat Society and the time she spent with Criss showing off their antique tractors in the Tractor Club and attending Sheet Metal Retirees meetings.
