He graduated high school in 1959 and went on to graduate art school. He was called into the ministry at the age of 19. Lonnie met Sandra and it was a match truly made in heaven. They were married March 17, 1963. To this union, they were blessed with three children, Patrice, Wanda (preceded Lonnie in death) and Lonnie III. They lived in St. Louis and California where he started with General Motors (GM) and built a successful graphic art business before relocating to Oklahoma. He retired from GM after 35 years of service.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband, pops and paw-paw, Lonnie was a talented artist often making custom games for his grandchildren. He was also very musical, playing several instruments (piano, organ, guitar, and drums). He read music and was also able to play by ear. He collected records and loved listening to all types of music. He never met a stranger and was the best storyteller.
Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with as many people as possible. He and Sandra ministered throughout the country and were very involved in church. He loved helping people. He cherished spending time with his family and was treasured by all who knew him, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by many loving family members, including his beloved wife Sandra Tucker, daughter Patrice Tucker, son Lonnie Tucker III (Rebecca) and their children Jillian, Jackson, and Gianna, as well as numerous other family and friends.
