Lori Dianne Cutchin passed away at Baptist Hospital just after 5:00 pm on October 30, 2024, at the age of 56. She had been the first child under age five to survive open heart surgery at the same hospital in 1972 under the care of De. Nazih Zuhdi.
Lori was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on July 22, 1968, to parents Jesse Carl Harrison and Carolyn Sue Harrison (Lynch). Lori was lucky to find her biological father and soul mother, Connie Mac Medows and Dena Medows at the age of 32. Lori and Shane Cutchin rekindled their love 12 years ago to where they got to spend the last of her 12 years together.
She held licenses as clergy, notary, and with the Cosmetology Board of Oklahoma. She had achieved her dream job working for the State of Oklahoma as a Massage Therapy Program Coordinator. Some of her previous jobs included medicine delivery to the elderly, mail delivery, truck dispatch and as a female take-down officer with the police department in Cromwell, OK.
From a young age, Lori had a love for barrel racing, the rodeo, and horses. She had a love for shopping, comforting friends, and celebrating Halloween by going to a local haunted house as well as handing candy out and making memories with all her friends at renaissance fairs dressed as a pirate.
She was a huge fan of Willy Wonka and a collector of Alice in Wonderland. Many people knew her by her nickname, “Alice”. Her favorite movies included anything Alice in Wonderland and Labyrinth. Lori’s music tastes were very eclectic. She liked everything from classical, country, rock, and heavy metal, depending on the day and her mood. Her favorite artist of those was Stevie Nicks and Prince.
Lori’s religion was a complex mixture between Pagan, Wiccan and Native American. She collected rocks, made moon water, along with burning cedar, sage and sweetgrass. With politics, she stayed politically neutral. Lori housed foreign exchange students and became a mother to many children around the world. She also did not want anyone to feel lonely or not cared about. At one time, she had 13 kids at once and did anything for them to help them get their feet under them and to grow into the beautiful people they are today.
Lori’s hobbies at a young age started with riding horses and barrel racing. In later life, riding motorcycles, attending festivals like Pagan Pride, the arts festival, and the Renaissance Fair. The India and Greek style festivals reminded her of family in being a member of Germans from Russia with her gypsy heart. Lori loved watching belly dancing and shows like Cirque de Soleil. She helped animals by donating time and needs to OK Save A Dog Rescue, and aiding stranded people and hitchhikers when safely possible. She had a 1974 black with purple trim Oldsmobile hearse named “Gypsy”, while her husband had a white hearse named “Rose”. They were an active part in the OKC Hearse Club and Pagan Pride.
