Mary was born in Adamsville, TN to Harvey and Mildred Tackett. In 1930 the family moved to Grandview, TX where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Dalton (Tex) Harrell. After years of travel they settled in Midwest City, OK. Mary was extremely active in local church work and her passion was teaching children’s Sunday School. She had a long and successful career in various food services. She retired from Mid-Del School system after 24 years as cafeteria supervisor. After retirement she worked part time at the Tinker AFB Exchange for 21 years as a vendor. She enjoyed sharing her special baked goods with the community. On her 85th birthday, the mayor of MWC declared February 15, 2012, as “Mary Harrell Day”. Preceded in death by her husband Tex; grandson Russell H. Dean; great-grandson Jude B. Dickey and eight brothers and sisters. Mary is survived by five children and spouses, Betsy and A.J. Czajkoski, Dianna and Bill Dudleson, Cathy and Robert Baxter, Steve and Jeanie Harrell, Jill and Richard Dean; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister Jean Martin and brother Roy Tackett.
Visitation will be at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, December 20 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City. Services will be held on Friday December 21 at 2:00 P.M. at Country Estates Baptist Church, Midwest City, OK followed by interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
Mary was a strong Christian, loved by all and will be extremely missed by family and friends.
