Mary Ola Cathryn "Nanny" Hill

,Nanny, 89, passed from this life on March 3, 2010 with her family at her side. Her last breath on earth was followed by her next one in heaven.

Mary Ola Cathryn Johns was born on May 15, 1920 in Mountain View, OK to Bill and Viola Johns. Cathryn was a 1938 graduate of Eakly High School. Cathryn attended her 70th class reunion in 2008 and would have been honored to sit with friends at the celebration scheduled for later this year.

Cathryn met Robert L. Hill on December 24, 1938. She fell in love and married Robert (Bob) on June 3, 1939. They were married for 51 years. She was a loving homemaker and the mother of two. Nanny enthusiastically served alongside her husband as a minster’s wife for 46 years. During that time she worked in many areas of Christian ministry. Nanny loved the Lord with her whole heart. Her hands were never idle.

Nanny was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one half-brother and her loving husband, Reverend Robert L. Hill. Those celebrating her home-going include her daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Keith Hill of Calera; her son, Robert W. (Bob) Hill and his wife Sue Hill of Moore. Grandchildren include Regina and Chuck Towne of Murphy, TX; DeVonna and Ron Landrum of Okemah; Alana Hill of Oklahoma City; Greg Nunn of Florida; Karie Hill of Oklahoma City and great grandchildren Tiffany and Aaron Towne, TX; Jonathan, David, Victoria, and Brooklyne Nunn of Florida. Her love extended to brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, a half-brother, a half-sister, three step-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren and a host of friends. Services will be held on Monday, March 8 at 10:00am at New Life A/G (4121 SE 59th OKC) with interment at 3:00pm – Eakly Cemetery, Eakly Oklahoma. Formal viewing with the family will be 3:00-5:00pm on Sunday, March 7, 2010.
