Michelle Antonette Hill

Michelle Antonette Hill, 61, 24-year resident of Blanchard, OK, passed away July 5, 2023, at Norman Regional Hospital due to complications after an emergency hernia operation. Born in Lawton, OK and growing up in Del City, her mom got her piano lessons at an early age. By 12 years old, she was already so accomplished, she became the organist at St. Paul’s and was still playing there up until this last week.

After graduating from Del City High School in 1980, she was very involved with accompanying the choirs and music programs at Rose State College and OKC Community College. Professionally, her career in different administrative roles ended after her 35 years of service with the government at FAA, as a Computer Specialist in 2018.

Besides playing piano, she enjoyed gardening, drawing, and colored pencil fantasy art. But most of all, her PASSION was her twenty-two-year-old son, Michael.

Michelle's calling was to fill the world with beautiful music. For years, she accompanied young couples as they marched down the aisle to married life, sprinkled in soft refrains as babies were sprinkled with baptismal water and helped bid a musical farewell to loved ones in song that brought comfort and solace.

A very heartfelt thanks goes out to the significant generosity of St. Paul and St. Philip Neri’s Catholic Churches, St. Martin’s Cemetery, the Knights of Columbus and the Ladies Group of St. Paul’s. And finally, the sincerest gratitude goes out to all the members of St. Paul’s Choir, past and present, for the many blessings shared today and over all the many years she led us in worship and praise to God.

She is survived by her son Michael Kowalchyk and sister, Joanna Hill.

A visitation for Michelle will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A rosary service will occur Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 5005 Southeast 29th Street, Del City, Oklahoma 73115. A funeral mass will occur Monday, July 10, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 3901 S. Sunnylane Rd., Del City, OK 73115.

Michelle will be laid to rest in St. Martin's Cemetery, 8001-8813 SE 74th St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73145.
