Mikel James Shaffer II

Mikel James Shaffer II, was born on October 30, 1981 in Purcell, OK to Mikel James Shaffer and Jackie McAlpine. He walked into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, on September 8, 2015 at the age of 33. Mikel was known as a charming, curious, hardworking, and resourceful person by many.

He enjoyed repairing cars, drawing pictures, fishing, and fixing electronic devices that weren't working properly. He also enjoyed listening to rap and hip hop music, and "chillin" with his family and friends. Mikel had many talents. At the age of 12 years old, he rebuilt a carburetor for his dad's car.

On August 17, 2015, Mikel dedicated his life to the Lord, as Jesus promised, "everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die,” so today we celebrate Mikel's new life in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Virginia Shaffer; maternal grandfather, Eugene Peltier.

Mikel is survived by his parents, Mikel James Shaffer of Oklahoma City, OK and Jackie McAlpine of Lexington, OK; two daughters, Serenity Michele and Mikayla Jasmine; brother, Matthew McAlpine of Lexington, OK; sisters, Sarah East, Brandy Stroder, Angie Tollett, Sihaya McAlpine; grandmother, Joyce Peltier and a host of relatives and friends.
