Mildred Ruth Levescy (Brassfield) was born in Chandler, Oklahoma on January 16, 1941 to Jess Frank Brassfield and Dora Lucille Brassfield (Clark). She was the second child, having an older brother, Jackie Brassfield. Her younger siblings were Joyce Brassfield, twins Larry and Gary Brassfield, and Floyd Brassfield. The family moved to Oklahoma City and lived in the Capitol Hill area. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1959. In October 1959 she met Harold Levescy, Sr., and they married on December 31 of that same year. They lived in Midwest City until 1967 when they moved to the country in the area where Harold grew up and his parents lived. This is where Harold and Mildred they still lived. They had three children: Julie, Harold, Jr., and Mary. Mildred was a homemaker until her death. When she and Harold became ‘empty nesters’, she started babysitting for lifelong friends. Harold and Mildred enjoyed traveling with friends and family. In 1991 their travels took them to Japan to visit Julie and her husband Terry. However, they were just as happy traveling within the state or annual family vacations. One of her favorite places to go was Branson, Missouri especially in the Fall and at Christmas time. Mildred’s hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Her family and friends were often recipients of her creations. Winter was her favorite time of year, and she loved when it snowed. Harold and Mildred were lifelong members of Church of Christ, and at the time of her death were members at Central Church of Christ in Moore, Oklahoma. Mildred was preceded in death by her father Jess, her mother Lucille, her infant brother Gary, her brother Jackie, her brother Larry, and her brother-in-law Jim Webb. She is survived by her husband Harold Sr., sister Joyce, brother Floyd and sister-in-law Dusty, sister-in-law Sandra Bagger, sister-in-law Sarah Webb, her daughter Julie and son-in-law Terry, her son Harold, Jr., and her daughter Mary and fiancé Michael Cates. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by very close lifelong friends: the Phillips family, the Cates family and the Allen/Shelton family. She is and will be missed by all who knew her.
