Nathan Wayne Tims went to his heavenly home Saturday, July 25, 2020 surrounded by his family. Nathan was born on February 21, 1961 in Oklahoma City to Evelyn Tims and the late Reverend Sampson Tims. Nate was an avid sports fan. He loved his OU Sooners, Boston Red Sox, NFL Football, Oklahoma Rockies baseball and Moore Sharks football. With our father being a pastor, we were known to move around often. After his passing the family settled in Oklahoma City, where Nathan graduated from Crooked Oak High School in 1979. Nate, along with our other brother Lee Bob, played a major role in our lives after the passing of our father. Nate was very supportive and loving to all of his siblings. Nate loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He would attend ballgames, school activities, take them on summer adventures and attend birthday parties. Nathan spent 29 years working at Hudiburg Nissan, during that time he made memories and lifelong friends. His coworkers jokingly called him “Nater”. After a long day at work, Nate enjoyed spending time with his extended family at the Alley Club and watching cooking shows. Nate was a talented artist with his drawings. In his early years, he loved bowling, playing pool, bike riding and going to concerts. Nate loved cooking the turkey on holidays, made the best deviled eggs and coconut cream pie. Nathan was a wonderful man, with the biggest heart you could imagine. He always made sure the people around him were taken care of, whether it be friends or family. If you ever needed him, he was there, no questions asked. His warm smile and loving demeanor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Tims, of Oklahoma City. Four brothers, Roberson Tims, his best friend, of Oklahoma City, Michael Tims of Oklahoma City; Marvin Tims, of Oklahoma City; and Dennis Philpot, of Choctaw, OK. Three sisters, Susie Tims, of Oklahoma City; Andrea Joslin and husband Gene Joslin, of Oklahoma City; Christine Tims and fiancé Eric Archer, of Oklahoma City. Four nieces, Kathryn Hagan and husband Chase Hagan, of Moore, OK; Victoria Shatswell and husband Gerald of Oklahoma City; Olivia Tims, of Oklahoma City, and Cheyenne Joslin and Mike Corriveau, of Norman, OK. One nephew, Brandon Tims, of Oklahoma City. Four great nephews; Damien Shatswell of Oklahoma City; Kaden Hagan and Jaxon Hagan, of Moore, OK; Javon Tims of Oklahoma City. One great niece, Chloe Tims of Oklahoma City. Nathan was also godfather to Cheyenne Joslin and Jaxon Hagan. As well as a host of family and friends. He is proceeded in death by his father, the Reverend Sampson Tims; paternal grandparents, Roberson and Rhoda Tims and maternal grandparents, the Reverend Isaac and Alice James.

I was lucky enough to meet Nate in 1977 when he started working at Ken's Nissan where I was employed. He was always playing pranks on all the management but they didn't really care because he did it because he really cared about them. We always stayed in touch even though we moved on to other dealerships. Nate, Lee Bob, Dennis Philpot & I used to go to concerts together in Okc, Stillwater, Tulsa even to Dallas. Always fun. We worked together again for 13 years at Hudiburg Nissan before I retired. Nate, Lee Bob, Chad Bennett, Paul Hargis, Pete Hamather & I spent most of our evenings at our home away from home at the Alley Club. Nate was always the comedy relief. He always made sure you had a cold one to drink & wouldn't let you buy him a drink. He always let everyone know how much he loved his friends & family, especially his nieces & nephews. I will miss his mischievous grin, his infectious laugh & his passion for his OU Sooners & Boston Red Sox. Miss you brother!

I remember when Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Sampson lived on N.W. 53rd in OKC. The kiddos all be in the backroom singing to The Beatles, and Elton John music. We often spent holidays together. He loved to paint or draw he has so much talent to share. As we got older of course we went our separate ways but Nate and I would stay in touch. Especially on his birthday I remember him telling me I won't celebrate my birthday. I told him I promise I will call him and he better answer on the other side. The last time we spoke we talked for hours. Before we hung up we would always say to each other Love you so Much!!! Fly high cousin and now Rest In Peace!! You will be greatly missed here on earth but I know you got your crown!! With all my Love, Peggy

I’ve know Nate since I was a little girl! He was one of my moms regulars at the alley, then became one of mine, then we also got to enjoy little league baseball together when his great nephew Kaden & my son Tucker played together. When I was working at the alley & he wasn’t sitting in my section he would still come buy 2 drinks from me & then tip me the change from a 20. He was just the sweetest & most caring man. I will so greatly miss talking with him & getting those warm hugs from him. As well as chasing after Jax with him! :)
