

In 1955, he was drafted in the military and later discharged in 1957. He attended University of Da Lat in Central Vietnam and graduated in 1962. From 1962 until the fall of Saigon, he was a philosophy professor in South Vietnam.
Upon graduation from college in 1962, he met his future wife, Bich Lien while attending a friend's wedding. Their courtship endured a challenge when Bich Lien received full scholarship to college of nursing in Virginia, USA. However, upon Nhac's persisting advice against coming to the US during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Bich Lien relinquished the scholarship to stay and attend nursing school in Saigon, Vietnam. On 5 October 1963, they were wed.
Mr. Nhac C. Nguyen was a sage man. He always instilled qualities such as faithfulness to God and Catholic teaching as well as advanced education to his children. His life motto was love and forgiveness. Mr. Nhac C. Nguyen was called to be with Our Lord on April 28, 2016 at 8:50 pm. He passed peacefully while being surrounded by all members of his families and friends.
Mr. Nhac C. Nguyen is survived by his wife Bich Lien of more than 53 years, his spiritual daughter KieuOanh Tran and family, his son Jonathan Minh Nguyen and wife Tina, his son Anthony Tuan Nguyen and wife Maria, his son Raphael Thanh Nguyen and wife Trang, as well as 7 grandchildren John, Anne Marie, Andrew, Matthew, Thomas, Catherine and Gabriel. He is also survived by 6 brothers and sisters, brother Nhac T. Nguyen in France, brothers My Nguyen and Nhan Nguyen, sisters Hue Nguyen, Anh Nguyen and Kieu Nguyen in Vinh Long, Vietnam.
Mr. Nhac C. Nguyen is survived by his spiritual nephew Tri and wife Sang Nguyen, as well as many godchildren including Trang Hua, Trung Lam, Tu Chi Ma, Khanh Chi Ma and Hien Nguyen.
