

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Eugene Barrett, Her Sisters (Dianna McCord, Ginger Geottman), and her brother (Jeffery Barrett).
Rebecca was survived by her husband (Douglas Shive), Son (Stephen Shive), Daughter (Dedra Blaylock), Grandchildren (Kylee Shive, Ethan Shive, Emma Blaylock, Evan Blaylock, Sophie Blaylock), Daughter-in-law (Alicia Shive), Son-in-law (Russell Blaylock), Brother (Douglas Barrett), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born on August 12, 1952, Rebecca grew up in a lively and loving home alongside her four siblings. Throughout her life, she carried with her the warmth, resilience, and kindness instilled in her from an early age.
Rebecca dedicated over 20 years of service to the veterans’ hospital, where she worked with compassion and unwavering commitment. Her care and dedication touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues, leaving a legacy of kindness and professionalism that will be remembered for years to come.
Family was at the heart of Rebecca’s world. She was a devoted wife to her husband, a loving mother to her two children, loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, and a cherished sister. Though three of her siblings preceded her in death, her bond with her surviving sibling remained a constant source of strength and comfort.
Rebecca will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and the way she made those around her feel seen and loved. Her memory lives on in the family she treasured, the lives she touched, and the countless small kindnesses she shared with the world.
A celebration of Rebecca’s life will be held on August 28, 2025 at 10:00AM. Services will be held at Bill Eisenhour funeral home at Sunnylane Cemetery (4000 SE 29th S, Del City, OK), where friends and family are invited to honor her memory and the beautiful life she lived.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
