Rex King, beloved brother of Kurt and Brenda King, passed away Jan. 31, 2026, with his family at his side. He was born on July 30, 1953, to Annie and Lee King. Rex graduated from Midwest City High School, class of 1971. He attended OU in Norman, graduating with a degree in Finance.
He worked summers in Masonry to finance his college degree and continued in that profession for the rest of his life. He met many life-long friends during his time at Midwest City High School and OU who have provided much love all his life. Rex treasured the monthly dinners and get-togethers with these same friends, and they often visited him in the days he was in the hospital and at home on hospice.
Rex was a master craftsman and his work, both commercial and residential, testifies to that fact. He was especially talented at building fireplaces and patios, often called in to repair what others could not. Although he never worked in his field of degree, he had an impressively organized and keen mind. He truly was happiest working with his hands.
We would like to thank, in particular, his friends, Rick, Carlos, Noe, Bill, John, and Kirk for their companionship and comfort during his illness and last days. We will never forget you all. We would also like to thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses and aides at OU Trauma, AMG Long-Term Acute Care, and especially the care of Heart to Heart Hospice.
He leaves behind his brother, Kurt; sister-in-law, Brenda; niece, Holly Bales, who always thought of him as “my Rex”, her husband Chad and boys, Luke, Jackson, and Ethan; nephew, Kyle and wife Kaitlin King; and Rex’s favorite great-niece, Andie King.
A visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home At Sunny Lane Cemetery, located at 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK, 73115, on February 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
The committal will occur at Arlington Memory Gardens, located at 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK, 73141.
