

Richard Dave Clay (Papa), age 73, has changed addresses. . .he went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 26, 2009 in Oklahoma City. He was born January 14, 1936 to Lee and Freda Clay in Oklahoma City, OK. After serving in the United States Air Force in South Dakota, he returned to Oklahoma City where he worked as a plumber and eventually owned his own plumbing business. He served faithfully as a Deacon for over 45 years at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. He taught Junior Boys, served as Youth Director, Sunday School Director, and most recently taught an Adult Sunday School Class. Richard always worked around the church by fixing the plumbing, working on the heating and air, mowing the lawn or any other odd jobs that needed tending in his service for the Lord. Richard truly cared for people and left his hand print on the lives that he touched. He loved to travel before retirement on long vacations and endured all the unexpected stops along the way and continued to enjoy travel after retirement. Richard's favorite pastime was anything that involved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Clay; sister, Judy Pack, and half sister, Mary Elizabeth Clay. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Shirley; daughters: Vicki DiDomenico and husband, Scott; Tracy Wilson and husband, Terry; son, Jeff Clay, and wife, Shelly; brother, Cecil Clay, and wife, Elaine; sister-in-law, Gloria Clay; stepmother, Virgie Clay; siblings: Peggy, Pam, Paula, Penny and Phillip; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 501 SE 28th, OKC,OK, with interment following at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
