Rita LaNeese Kimbrough, 67 of Oklahoma City, OK passed away March 30, 2016. She was born April 14, 1948 in Oklahoma City, OK to Merritt Cecil Clanton and Iva Lee (Stafford) Clanton. The Lord blessed LaNeese and Tom with 48 years and 5 days of marriage. During this time life was lived to its fullest taking advantage of the opportunities He offered. After Tom’s military service they lived in several different places as his career demanded. Returning to Oklahoma and after the raising of their daughter, LaNeese returned to school and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught as a third grade teacher and I don’t believe her students ever new that she was a teacher they loved her so much and she them. After her accident in 1986 she was forced to give her teaching career up and became a housewife again. The Lord never stopped offering opportunities to fill her life with adventure and she took every challenge that came her way.
LaNeese is survived by her husband Thomas Brooks Kimbrough; daughter Shelley JoNeese (Kimbrough) McCollough; grandchildren Alec Dakota Whetsel, Baylee Madison Whetsel, Jeffrey Dawn McCollough, Jr, and Coleman Brook McCollough. She is preceded in death by her parents Merritt Cecil and Iva Lee Clanton; and two brothers Merritt Cecil Clanton, Jr and Joe Keith Clanton.
Arrangements under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City, Oklahoma.
