Rodney Eugene Newman passed away on June 17, 2022. He was born on January 17, 1958 in Oklahoma City, OK to U.L. Newman and Barbara Ann (Goshner) Newman. He married the love of his life, Patricia O'Reilly, on June 19, 1998 in Oklahoma City. They had five children, Matt, Richard, Amber, David, and Cheryl.
Rodney graduated from Del City High School in 1977, and obtained an associate's degree thereafter. He worked as a computer programmer for the State of Oklahoma DHS. He loved history, John Wayne movies, and liked knives. He liked helping his Dad feed the Greyhound dogs, and also enjoyed feeding and riding horses. His greatest achievements were his children and grandchildren, earning his associate’s degree, and his two fur babies, Nola and Titus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, U.L. and Barbara Newman. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Newman; one son, Matt Rodney Newman and wife Rebekah of Midwest City, four step-children, Richard Thomas Leary Sr. of Del City, Amber Dawn Humphrey of Norman, David Joseph Leary of Midwest City, and Cheryl Ann Leary of Bedford, New Hampshire; brother Dennis Newman of Midwest City; nine grandchildren, Richard Thomas Leary Jr., Haley Marie Leary, Patrick Christopher Leary, Maddilyn Rose Leary, Christian Martinez Leary, Madelyn Duckworth, Hanna Duckworth, Kale Newman, and Ericka Bea Leary; and a host of other family and friends.
