

Roy Samuel Carter, 88, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away on July 2, 2025. He was born November 30th of 1936 in Muskogee Oklahoma. Roy Carter attended Cameron University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1957. He was stationed at the Wiley Barracks in Neu-Ulm Germany, where he served as a Pershing Missile Crewman and a Pershing Electronics Repairer, along with other locations including Ft. Sill, where he retired from. He was recognized with multiple awards and medals while he served. The National Defense Service Medal, The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal while in Korea, the Good Conduct Medal Sixth Award, an expert in rifles and M-16’s, an expert in hand grenades, and the Meritorious Service Medal.
He married his devoted wife Junie Carter in January of 1958 in Muskogee Oklahoma, they had three children.
After he retired from the Army, he worked in civil service at Ft. Sill as a mechanic before moving to Oklahoma City in 1989. He retired from civil service from Tinker Air Force Base.
He enjoyed fixing things, building things, working on cars, playing poker, watching sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
Roy Carter is survived by his wife Junie, his son Roy Carter Jr., his wife Elaine, and their two children Tiberius, and Vincent. His son Victor Carter and his wife Kaija. His grandson, Michael Carter and wife Amanda, and their three children, Cameron and his wife Juelian, Keegan, and Kelton. His granddaughter Tamika and her daughter Kamiyah. As well as other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, his daughter Cassandra Frazier, and son-in-law, Fred Frazier.
Graveside services for Roy Carter will be July 23, 2025 at 10:00am at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City Oklahoma.
