After graduating from Harrah High School she began working as an office assistant then became a payroll specialist at Altec-Lansing. For the past 24 years she worked as a payroll specialist at Braum’s. Shelly loved her Braum’s family, enjoying the short visits she had with colleagues when they stopped by her desk to sneak a treat from her candy bowl. Even when her daily work became more challenging, her Braum’s family supported and encouraged her.
Shelly loved beautiful things. She enjoyed creating them, decorating with them, shopping for them, collecting them and sharing them. She loved doing handcrafts that she learned from her beloved mother and grandma, and like them, was always ready to try a new craft. In her later years, she fell in love with making hand crafted cards that she shared with her family and friends who cherished them.
Shelly was the world’s greatest OKC Thunder fan and would never miss a game. Watching them win the National Championship was one of the happiest days of her life and she could never have enough Thunder gear! She also loved the Oklahoma Sooners and especially enjoyed seeing them win. When she wasn’t watching the Thunder or the Sooners, she would indulge in watching Hallmark movies or the Gilmore Girls while enjoying a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks. Mostly she loved visits from family and friends and would light up with joy when people would call or come by to spend time with her.
Shelly was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Pittman. She is survived by her father, Bryan (Barbara) Pittman, her brothers Randy (Kitty) Pittman and Danny (Laura) Pittman, her sister, Paula Pittman, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 6 great nieces and nephews, a goddaughter who was like her own grandchild, and a family of close, loving friends who will feel her loss terribly.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Wednesday, March 4 at 2:00 pm at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th St., Del City, OK, 73115.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the charity of your choice. Shelly had the biggest heart in the world and she would joyfully give you whatever she could in order to be of help. She would love it if you helped someone else in her memory.
