Shemira Allyce Sons

Shemira is survived by her grandmother Gwendolyn Cady, mother Celine Sons, father Kenny Sons, siblings Stephanie Lyon, Charles (Sarah) Sons, Hillary (Lucas) Torres, Andrew Sons, Rebecca Beard, Noah (Tabitha) Sons, Moriah (Nicholas) Larsen, Chloe Field, and Taleah Sons, 12 nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

Shemira brought her childlike purity and innocence to everyone she encountered. She had a beautiful and unique way of viewing the world, and that is a big part of what made her so very special. She loved to craft and cook to express her creativity, frequently giving homemade gifts to those who were special to her. She dreamed of someday having a cafe where she could develop her own recipes.

One of Shemira's favorite animals were cows. She had a collection of porcelain and stuffed cows - her entire room was decorated in cow theme! She also loved dogs, and had recently adopted a Chihuahua puppy named Donut who will now be cared for by her parents and youngest sisters.

Shemira was adored by her nieces and nephews, perhaps because she could connect with them on a different level than other adults in their lives. She enjoyed cartoons and video games and spending time with her family. She could be quiet, but was always ready with a zinger of a joke!

Christmas was her favorite time of year - in fact, she started planning her Christmas list and decorations right after her birthday. This will be the time of year that Shemira is remembered and missed the most. Her ridiculously specific Christmas lists, her thoughtful gifts for others, her excitement at opening gifts and watching others open theirs, her enjoyment of family traditions... One of her favorites was Jesus' birthday cake.

We take comfort in knowing that Shemira looked forward to the time when she could be free of pain, breathing free and easy, smiling, laughing, and running with Jesus.

Shemira's celebration of life service will be held at 10am Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Destiny OKC, 3801 SE 29th St., OKC, OK 73115, with lunch to follow. Flowers can be delivered to the church the same day.
