

Thelma proudly served in the United States Women’s Army Air Corps during WWII. She married Birdene Etzel “B.E.” Forrest on November 26, 1945 in Texas. B.E. and Thelma were married for 66 years and together they enjoyed traveling the U.S. and spending time with their family. Each year, B.E. and Thelma looked forward to attending the WWII Squadron reunions. Thelma enjoyed crafting, making her children’s clothing and grandchildren’s Halloween costumes, charity work and baking chocolate chip cookies for her family. She was very active in the Sunnylane U.M.W group and loved attending the yearly bazaar.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, B.E.; siblings, Herschel, Leonard, Cara, Leona, Jewell, Estelle, Verla, Josephine, Dorothy. Survivors include her children, Pat MacDonald (Bill), Tim Forrest, Tom Forrest, Lisa Hancock (Bill); grandchildren, Scott MacDonald (Carrie), Mike MacDonald (Leann), Heather and Jennifer Hancock; great-grandchildren, Katelin, Ian and Maddix MacDonald, Deandra, Michael and Katie Leonard; sister, Verdean Phillips.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2012 at the Sunnylane United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
