Tim was born January 12, 1958, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Alva and Shirley (Couchman) Guthery.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Roxanne Stallings and Kimberly Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Dena Renee’ Guthery, his children William Guthery (wife Kristen) and Sarah Middendorf (husband Jason), his brothers Stephen and Kenneth Guthery, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Tim graduated from Midwest City High School in 1976. He received a full athletic scholarship from the University of Nebraska (Lincoln) to wrestle as a cornhusker, which may seem odd to many who knew of Tim’s love for the Oklahoma Sooners. After his first year at Nebraska, Tim joined the United States Marine Corps where he continued his wrestling career. Tim split his time between training in Quantico, Virginia, and chauffeuring a Colonel around the sunny islands of Hawaii. He served proudly and honorably for four years, but Tim was and will always be a Marine.
Tim welcomed his son William into the world in 1983 and his Princess, Sarah, in 1984. He married the love of his life, Renee’, in 1997. Tim and Renee’ lived happily together in Gracemont, Oklahoma with a variety of pets, including a pet racoon. Tim worked as the Parts Manager for United Engines in Oklahoma City until he was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2010. After a long and arduous battle, Tim overcame cancer and began his path towards recovery with Renee’ by his side. Tim and Renee’ relocated to Yukon, Oklahoma where they lived together until his passing.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Above all, Tim loved spending time with family, especially when there were kids running around. His friends and family always had to have their wits about them when Tim was around, otherwise, they’d fall prey to one of his many practical jokes.
Tim brought love and laughter to the lives of those around him. He was so many things to so many people that these words can’t begin to describe the impact that Tim had during his life. He will be dearly missed by all. Semper Fi.
