On November 7, 1961, he married Diana McClary. Together they had two boys Tony and Rick and one daughter Christy. In 1965, he found employment at W&W Steel Co. where he learned to weld. Later he became the crane operator. Also, became involved with the safety organization for the company. Fifty-three years later, at the age of 73, he retired.
In January of 1982, he married Phyllis Shepherd and were together for 39 years. Tommy enjoyed bowling, riding his motorcycle, playing table games with the family, and various backyard games. His favorite T.V. program to watch was championship wrestling. Tommy served in church as a song leader and Sunday School superintendent. He was a hard worker and provider for his family and loved his grandkids.
Preceding Tommy in death are his parents Trinidad and Marcelina Sanchez, and brother Martin Sanchez of Quanah, TX, wife Phyllis Sanchez of OKC, OK.
Surviving Tommy are his children Tony Sanchez of OKC, OK, Rick (Teri) Sanchez of Newcastle, OK and Christy (Frank) Hays of Chesapeake, Virginia, brothers Dan Sanchez of OKC, OK, Darrell (Dinah) Sanchez of Choctaw, OK, sisters, Annita Guerrero of OKC, OK, Gloria Vallejos of Dexter, New Mexico, Kathie (Albert) Holguin of Hurley, New Mexico, Dalia (Monte) Winans of OKC, OK, sister-in-law Joyce Sanchez of Quanah, TX, six grandkids, nine great-grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
