Velvia M. Linthicum, 79, died Monday, June 15, 2009 in Midwest City. She was born May 12, 1930 in Greer County, OK, to Haze and Emma (Sturgeon) Smith. Velvia lived in the Oklahoma City area for the past twelve years moving here from Fort Worth, TX. She was a member of the Mimosa Heights Christian Church and Rolling Meadows Neighborhood Association. Velvia was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard Addison Linthicum. Survivors include a son, Richard A Linthicum and wife, Penny; daughter, Janet K. Linthicum; brothers, Jess and Bill Smith; grandsons: Richard A. Linthicum, Jr. and wife, Carla, and Jeremy Craig Linthicum and wife, Tracy; and grandchildren, Brendan A. and Cassandra R. Linthicum. Her funeral service is at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Sunny Lane Chapel. Arrangements under the direction of Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery in Del City, OK.
