Watha Laverne Gage-Cox was born October 4, 1928 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Elmer and Jewel (Strickland) Pittman. She passed from this life on January 1, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by both parents, her first husband Joe Gage, second husband Orbia Cox, and one grandson Timothy Chase. She is survived by her daughters Karen and husband Victor; Nona and husband T. Frank Collins; sons Nelson Gage and wife Paula; Jimmy Gage and wife Cathy; 2 stepdaughters Teresa Chase and Ramona Cox; 1 sister Jackie and husband George Roberts; and 1 brother Dewey Pittman; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. Watha retired from Macklanburg-Duncan in Oklahoma City where she worked for many years as an accountant. She helped organize the Midwest City Firefighters’ Womens Auxiliary and served as the first president. She loved bowling, traveling, cross-stitching, crocheting, needlepoint and reading. Services will be held at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
