Born on April 11, 1946, in Kaplan, LA to the late Otis and Amelia Vincent Hargrave, and was one of eight children.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the cherished matriarch of her family, Anna lived a life rooted in love, strength, and unwavering dedication. She was known for her remarkable work ethic, a value she not only believed in but demonstrated daily as she worked side by side with her husband in the shrimping industry. Through her example, she instilled in her family the importance of perseverance, responsibility, and pride in honest work.
Anna found great joy in the simple beauty of life. She loved being outdoors, tending to her garden and planting flowers that reflected her nurturing spirit and appreciation for nature. Her yard was often in bloom, a testament to her care and patience.
She also treasured the moments spent with her family, especially the trips they shared taking her to the casino—times filled with laughter, excitement, and togetherness that she held dear.
Above all, Anna’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely and the strong foundation she built for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cathy D. Conner; Connie D. Mire; Cheryl D. Salas (Pedro); Carin D.
