Floyd Landry LeBlanc

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Floyd Landry LeBlanc, age 81, at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Herb Bennerfield will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Migues Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. LeBlanc passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at her residence, with her family at her side.

Mrs. Floyd was retired after having worked for over 30 years with D.H. Castille and Larry Delcambre as an accountant. After retiring, she worked a short time as a marine operator, and then worked with James L. Gray, Inc. for ten years. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society, and enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden.

Floyd’s greatest joy was the time spent with her family, whether it was enjoying a meal together or just visiting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Susan Melder and husband Mel, Darin J. LeBlanc and wife Jamie, and Shane M. LeBlanc and wife Christie all of Delcambre; eight grandchildren, Jace Melder and wife Philana, April M. Holleman and husband Andrew, Jr., Luke Melder, Dylan LeBlanc, Haley LeBlanc, Kayla L. Griffin, Allie LeBlanc, and Jay Michael LeBlanc; three great grandchildren, Kennedy Holleman, Porter Melder and Madden Griffin; and her sisters, Hilda Delcambre and B.R. Landry both of Delcambre.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. LeBlanc; parents, Walter E. Landry and Lillian Rodriguez Landry; and her sister and brothers, Flo Ella Renard, Walter “Buck” Landry, Jr., Tilden Landry and V.J. Landry.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jace Melder, Luke Melder, Dylan LeBlanc, Andrew Holleman, Scott LeBlanc, and Paul Delcambre. Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Delcambre and Sheron (Mel) Melder.

The family would like to extend the sincere gratitude and appreciation to Mrs. Floyd’s sitters, Janet Hollier, Susan Mire, Rella Theriot, and to her nurses for their care and compassion shown.
