Francis Dalton Touchet

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Francis Dalton Touchet, age 92, at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Interment will be Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Vermilion Honor Guard. Fr. Herb Bennerfield will officiate at the services.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am onWednesday until service time.

A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Touchet passed away at 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Mr. Touchet was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of the American Legion #279 of Erath; VFW Post #4158 of Abbeville; member of the Shrimp Festival Assoc, Delcambre Golden Age and the St. Augustine Men’s Club of Delcambre. His hobbies included bowling, playing cards and dancing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Touchet is survived by his son, Brentley Touchet of Delcambre; grandchildren, Tomi Touchet and his fiancé Samantha St. Upery of Delcambre and Marc Touchet and his wife Khristina Guidry Touchet of Erath; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Olivia Touchet and one great grandchild on the way, Dalton Jude Touchet. He is also survived by one sister, Inez Lapointe of New York; two brothers, Clifton Touchet of Abbeville and Georeph Touchet of Lafayette; former daughter in law, Rosalyce “Cissi” Bares and husband Teddy of Youngsville and his special friend, Georgie Johnson of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ena Segura Touchet; Son, Valois Touchet; Parents, Lionel and Moita Brasseaux Touchet; one brother, Francois Touchet and two sisters, Evelyn Gerard and Dorothy LeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
