Rella Falgout Theriot

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rella Falgout Theriot, age 79, at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Nathan Comeaux will be the celebrant. Readers for the Mass will be Troy Falgout and Natalie Broussard, with Brittany Dronet and Tiffany Dugas and Hannah Landry as gift bearers. Mrs. Rella will be laid to rest at the church cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of the Mass. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am.

Rella Falgout Theriot was born September 12, 1936 in Delcambre to the late Advae “Pie” Falgout and the late Louise LeBlanc Falgout, and passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Rella was a lifelong resident of Delcambre and longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She served 25 years as a caregiver to the elderly, having assisted many families in Delcambre and surrounding areas. Some of pastimes included reading and crafts (including crocheting, woodworking, and ceramics), and cooking and sharing meals for family and friends. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Paul Theriot of Delcambre, Rhonda T. Langlinais and husband Danny of Delcambre, Regina T. Dugas and husband Guy, Sr. of New Iberia; her daughter-in-law, Christine Theriot; her brother, John Dave Falgout; four grandchildren, Stanley Theriot and wife Catina, Guy Dugas, Jr., Brittany Dronet and husband Jeremy and Tiffany Dugas; five great grandchildren, Ava, Caleb, Jamie and Gavin Theriot and Rhett Dronet; five step grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; and three nieces and nephews whom she thought of as grandchildren, Troy Falgout and wife Angie, Jason Falgout and wife Leah, and Hannah Landry and husband Jacob.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Theriot, Sr.; her son, Robert “Bob” Theriot; a brother, Carroll Lee Falgout; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Falgout.

Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Langlinais, Jeremy Dronet, Guy Dugas, Sr., Stanley Theriot, Guy Dugas, Jr., and Jason Falgout. Timmy Curry will serve as honorary pallbearer.
