Ronald was born August 25, 1938 in Delcambre to Mrs. Verdice LeBlanc Delcambre and the late Howard Pim Delcambre and was one of three sons. His family described him as a hardworking, fun loving, simple man who enjoyed life. He retired from the oilfield having worked with various companies, including New Century Fabricators, Movable Offshore and PMB.
There are so many fond memories of Ronald that was shared by his family. Rynn recalls the times of his dad strumming on his guitar but not necessarily "playing" it. It was always a fun time and brought laughter and smiles to everyone. Rick and Rory spoke of the awesome father and sons trips on their motorcycles across country and their most memorable was riding to South Dakota.
Ronald had a love for the outdoors. Great times were had at the camp in Mississippi where they hunted and cooked some delicious meals. His grandchildren said he had the best white beans ever and they never missed a meal when their grandfather was cooking.
That simple life that his family spoke of, was not so simple because it was filled with the love and companionship of his family. And that was above all else. Although his time on earth is no more, he will live on in the hearts and thoughts of his family. Rest well for we will be reunited one day.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Rory Delcambre and wife Bonnie, Rynn Delcambre and wife Tracie and Rick Delcambre and wife Jodie; his dear mother, Verdice LeBlanc Delcambre; eight grandchildren, Cru Delcambre (Ashley), Cade Delcambre (Hannah), Quinn Delcambre (Amy), Ridge Delcambre, Shea Delcambre (Jacob), Tricia Delcambre (Bubba), Cole Delcambre (Kelsey) and Camryn Delcambre; eight great grandchildren, Brailey Champagne, Mya Champagne, Presley Delcambre, Mavrik Delcambre, Maddex Delcambre, Easton Delcambre, Aubri Delcambre and Adalynn Delcambre; and his brother, Jimmy Wade Delcambre.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Joan Duhon Delcambre; his father, Howard Delcambre; and his brother, Daniel Delcambre.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Buddy Breaux will be the celebrant. Following the mass, Ronald will be laid to rest with his wife at the church mauoleum.
