Ronald James Saunier

DELCAMBRE – Masonic Services will be conducted for Mr. Ronald James Saunier, age 65, at 3:30 pm Monday, October 22, 2012 at Evangeline Funeral Home, conducted by members of the Aurora Lodge #193. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. Musical selections will be performed by his granddaughter, Kaylyn Saunier and DHS band Director, Neil Simon. Military Graveside services will be conducted by Vermilion Parish Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Sunday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Saunier passed away at 5:00 am on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Saunier is a 1965 graduate of Delcambre High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps, for three years, serving three tours in the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Saunier worked in the banking and car industry from 1969 to 1986, most of which was for Leblanc & Broussard Ford Inc. of New Iberia. He then worked in the mobile home industry until retirement. He was a member of the Aurora F&AM 193 Masonic Lodge in New Iberia and a member of the Delcambre American Legion Post 338.

Mr. Saunier is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy Richard Saunier; one daughter, Tracy Saunier; one son, T.J. Saunier and wife Jamie and three grandchildren, Kaylyn Saunier, Colt Saunier and Rogan Saunier all of Delcambre.

He is also survived by his mother, Lilly Romero Sonnier of Delcambre; one brother, John Curley “Pete” Sounier and wife Cludette of Erath and three sisters, Shirley S. Landry and husband Leroy of Delcambre; Mary Jane S. Broussard and husband Dalton of Maurice and Connie S. Trahan and husband Ron of Meaux.

He was preceded in death by his father, Placie Sonnier.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Saunier; John Curley “Pete” Sounier; Larry landry, George Richard, Johnny Broussard and Chris Romero. His three grandchildren, Kaylyn, Colt and Rogan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
