Viola Toups Lopez

DELCAMBRE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Dudley Lopez, the former Viola Toups, age 88, at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Herb Bennerfield officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemtery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Coteau, Mrs.Lopez passed away at 3:55 pm on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Belle Teche Nursing & Rehab.

Mrs. Lopez was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a homemaker who had a passion for cooking and preparing family meals.

She is survived by her children, David Lopez and wife Gail; Merline Romero and husband Paul; Betty Touchet and husband Raymond and Audrey Fremin and husband Leeward all of Coteau. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and sixteen great great grandchildren and one brother, Emery Toups and his wife Evie of Hammond.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Lopez; parents, Duas and Lena Desormeaux Toups and one sister, Irene T. Romero.

Pallbearers will be Hoyt Fremin, Heath Fremin, David Lopez, Jr., Willie Romero, Tony Touchet and Teddy Touchet.
