

Arthur Joseph McCarthy
Arthur Joseph McCarty, age 91, passed away on January 30, 2025 in Delray Beach, Florida. He is survived by his wife Jean Worthington McCarthy of Delray Beach and Narragansett, Rhode Island.
Art went to Everett High School and Salem State Teachers College. He worked as a teacher in Stoughton,, Massachusetts and also worked for the Massachusetts State Lottery. Art was past President of the Everett E Club and an active member for many years. He also served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.
Arthur was an avid sports fan. In his retirement he played softball in the Cape Cod Senior League and competed in the senior olympics. Arthur loved to travel.
Arthur is survived by four sons, Arthur J. McCarthy Jr. of Reading, Massachusetts, Kevin R. McCarthy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sean P. McCarthy (Jennifer) of Plymouth, Massachusetts and Brian J. McCarthy of Stoughton, Massachusetts and seven grandchildren Kevin, Michael, Kelly, Colin, Ryan, Kyle and Molly and two great grandchildren Juliana and Liam McCarthy. He is also survived by his brother Paul McCarthy of Bradford, Mass.
Arthur is predeceased by his first wife Judith A. Walker, his parents John and Elizabeth (Evans) McCarthy of Everett, Massachusetts and his brothers John and James McCarthy.
A graveside service of remembrance will be held 9:30 am, Monday, February 10 at at Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth. Lane 3.
