It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deanna (Dee Dee) Phyllis Eichwald (Krinsky), born in Brooklyn NY, the daughter of Max Krinsky and Shirley (Saltzman) Krinsky, on March 6th, 1944.
She married Gerald (Jerry) Eichwald on June 12, 1965, in Brooklyn, and after nearly 60 years together, retired to Shaftsbury, VT, and Boca Raton, FL.
She is survived by her beloved husband Jerry; her son, Kenneth Brian Eichwald; her daughter, Dr. Stacy Lynn Eichwald King, and son-in-law, Dr. Seth King; and her cherished grandchildren, Benjamin King and Sophia King.
Dee Dee attended the University of Miami, Iona College, and The New York Institute for Banking.
Her diverse professional life spanned the fields of family and non-family real estate, oil and energy distribution, banking, law, electrical contracting and distribution, electronics, academia, and gymnastics management.
A devoted volunteer, Dee Dee was deeply involved in local, state, regional, and national organizations, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts. She held leadership roles in several PTA organizations in Harrison, NY. She was also active in Hadassah, ORT, the Sisterhood of the JCC of Harrison, the National Jewish Council on Girl Scouting, and the Westchester-Putnam Jewish Committee on Scouting (Israeli Scouts/Tzofim).
Dee Dee was actively engaged in Harrison politics. She served as a certified Electoral Inspector for local, regional, state, and national elections, as a member of the League of Women Voters.
However, Dee Dee’s greatest love was to travel with her husband Jerry. Together they explored the U.S. and Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and many other exciting adventures.
She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
Donations in her memory can be made to Dee Dee’s favorite charity - Hadassah Hospital or to The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America are deeply appreciated.
