

His family settled in Springfield, Mass. after fleeing Stuttgart, Germany in 1938. He returned to Germany as a U.S. GI after graduating high school. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In a long career with UNIVAC and then Kearfott/Singer, he helped design the earliest computer and a guidance system for NASA.
Pete was an avid skier, swimmer, bridge and tennis player, avocations he shared with his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Pollack. He took up hiking and golf later in life and enjoyed league play with neighbors from Floral Lakes and Smith Manor. A toastmaster, Pete enjoyed public speaking, parties, live music, shows and opera in every medium. He was lucky to find love multiple times in his life.
He is survived by his brother Franz, daughters Regie Wolff and Susan (John) Beckett, grandchildren Alicia and Robert Beckett and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, at Riverside-Stanetsky Funeral Chapel, 7205 W. Atlantic Blvd., Delray Beach. Following the service, the family will sit Shiva at Pete’s residence from 4:30 – 7:30 and Thursday afternoon from 2:00-4:00.
