Stuart “Bud” Olson of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away after a long illness on March 19, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marilyn, his sons Barry and Jeff (Margo), and grandchildren Jaffa, Sarice and Izak.
Bud was born in the Bronx, NY and later lived in Paramus and Somerville, NJ before moving to enjoy retirement in Florida. He was a combat veteran in the Army during the Korean war. Bud and Marilyn met on a weekend trip to the Adirondacks and they were together ever since.
After graduating from City College of New York, Bud’s professional career started with the New York Sun newspaper. He later moved into apparel marketing and worked at Monsanto, Kellwood and other companies. In retirement he helped manage the Grove Globe community newspaper in Boynton Beach. He was an avid tennis player and a lifetime fan of the NY Giants, Yankees and Knicks. He coached Little League baseball and was the commissioner of his softball league in Florida.
A private ceremony will be held for the immediate family. Contributions in Bud’s memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
