Betty Jane Hickey Brodie

BettyJane Hickey Brodie born January 12, 1925 in Denison TX to Jerry and Nettie Hickey passed away on April 10, 2014 at Collinwood Nursing Center, Plano TX.

Betty was raised in Denison where she attended the Golden Rule Grade School and graduated from Denison High in 1942. On December 28, 1945, Betty married John P. Brodie. For more than 50 years she worked for the family business, John P. Brodie A/C. Betty and John, having no children, considered Tom, John, Pam, and Steve their own. Betty had a deep love for animals and volunteering.

Betty is survived by her sister-in-law Loreta Hickey; brother-in-law Buck Brodie; cousin David Dorgan; niece Pam Brodie Sudderth; nephews Tom and John Hickey, and Steve Brodie; great nephews Conner, Payton and Brody Hickey, Christopher Brodie, Brad Corboy, and many other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Aunt Daisy, and brother Jim.

Graveside service will be Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:00 A.M., at Fairview Cemetery Chapel.
