Charles was born on Friday, April 3, 1931 to George Washington and Elanor Hambright Roberts. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion and Grayson County Veterans. He joined the Army in May 1952 and received numerous medals. He was honorably discharged at Wolters Air Forces Base, Texas in February 1954.
He is survived by his wife Alice Roberts of Denison, Texas; son Harley Ray Roberts of Denison, Texas; daughters Debra Hiner and husband Martin of Denison, Texas, Elaine Manning and husband Bobby of Gilbert, Arizona; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Charles Ray Roberts, daughter Pam Coleman, brothers Harvey Roberts and Harley Roberts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
