Doris Laverne Wallace Lacey

Funeral services are set for 1:30pm, Monday, November 5th, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel, 1501 Hwy. 91 N, Denison, TX 75020.

Doris was born on November 24th, 1929 in Denison, Texas to Earl Wallace and Louise (Adams) Wallace. She grew up in Denison and after graduating from high school became a local beautician. She then met and married Paul Lacey prior to his re-enlistment in the Air Force. She was a nurturing and supportive military wife that spent time stationed with Paul in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Bangor, Maine, Wichita Falls, Texas and Puerto Rico. Once Paul retired to Denison and the kids were old enough, Doris spent over a decade working for Denison ISD Food Services.

Doris was a caring and dependable person devoted to and protective of her family. She was not afraid to stand up for what she believed in, enjoyed gardening and loved Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream and her Texas Rangers.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years Paul and her brother James Edwin Wallace.

Doris is survived by: children Charles Lacey and wife Lisa of Allen, Texas, Susan Young and husband Bill of Hudson Oaks, Texas, Sharon Siems and husband Randy of Denison, Texas; grandchildren Danielle, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Monica, Kyle, Rachel, Renner and Madison.
