Helen Joy Applin Bailey

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 5:00 P.M. Sunday, May 15, 2011at Bratcher Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 16, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Daniels officiating.

Pallbearers will be Ron Hessel, Dewayne Hessel, Roland Fernandez, Ricky Fernandez, Leon Crow and Brandon Latimer. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX 75090.

Helen was born June 16, 1936 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of George J. Applin and Hester Cowden. She was of the Pentecostal faith; loved to play Bingo; watch horseshoes being pitched; watch her grandson Ron race and watch her great-grandkids play sports.

She is survived by sons Richard Bailey & wife Jackie of Whitewright, Gary Bailey of Denison, Timmy Bailey of Denison, Darrin Bailey of Denison; daughters Linda Hessel of Van Alstyne, Alice Schumaker & husband Charles of Whitewright, Debbie Benatti of Trinidad, TX; sister Bobbie Brin & husband Russell of Sherwood Shores, Pottsboro; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband Dewayne Junior Bailey; sister Annie Lewis Snyder and brother Sonny Applin.
