

He was a Baptist and a member of Bible Baptist Church for many years. He was a dedicated viewer of the teachings of the Shepherds Chapel, Arnold Murray.
Larry grew up in Whitewright, Texas and attended Whitewright schools. After leaving Whitewright, he worked at TriAngle News for 12 years. In 1968 he began a career with the Katy Railroad. While employed at the Katy, in 1984, he established Hayes Video in Denison, Bells, Bonham and Honey Grove, Texas. He continued his video rental and sales business for 25 years.
His joy and passion were horses, watching and competing in rodeos. Calf roping was his favorite, winning saddles and belt buckles. He was a life time member of the Texoma Quarter Horse Association.
Larry is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter Larra Jean Hayes; granddaughter Blair Roden and husband Troy; great-grandchildren Reese and Carter Roden, all of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; his bonus family, Jeff, Melanie, Colin and Lexi Lansford of Whitewright and Stephen Lansford of Sherman, Texas; brother Jack and JoAnn Hayes of Garland; sister-in-law Gladine Hayes of Louella; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth and Linda Mullens of Denison.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dwayne Hayes and Roland Fralicks; his best friend and riding partner “Ole Joe”.
