Melvin Ray Gentry

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, June 17, 2013 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Quinton Gage officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert, OK.

Visitation will be at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel one hour before the service.

Melvin was born Tuesday, November 19, 1940 to Harley & Lorene (Bolden) Gentry in Colbert, OK. He served in the Army National Guard from 1961 to 1964. In his early years he worked as a grocery clerk and later went on to become a sales representative before becoming disabled by a series of strokes.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sister Harlene Turland of Dallas, TX; two nieces, Cheri Savage of Skowhegan, ME, Melanie Tawater of Lucas, TX; two nephews David R Couch of Denison, TX, Tim Couch of Dallas, TX; nine great nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
