Born in Denison to Robert S. and Lura B. Black who preceded him in death.
Michael was a lifelong Denison resident who graduated from Denison High School in 1985. He then joined the U.S. Army and served with the 82nd Airborne in North Carolina.
He returned to Denison and attended Grayson County College where he received his R.N. nursing degree.
Michael is survived by his children Micah Meeks of Dallas, Lindsey Ann Black of Denison, Kayce McCord Black of Denison and Seth Michael Black also of Denison.
He is survived by a sister Rebecca Wingfield of Hendrix, Oklahoma and a brother Robert P. Black of Denison; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Bratcher Funeral Home.
