Norma Jean Murphy Bales

A memorial service will be held at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Todd Catteau officiating.

Norma was born Monday, December 25, 1933 in Stroud, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sam Murphy and Opal Odella Hopkins Murphy. She was married to Owen B. Bales for 62 years and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2012. She was a member of Park Avenue Church of Christ in Denison; graduated high school in Stroud, Oklahoma and worked as an LPN in a hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.

She is survived by sons Micheal Bales of Fairview, Oklahoma, Barry Bales & wife Mary of San Antonio, Texas; brother Sammy Murphy of Dover, Ohio; sister-in-law Wanda Bales of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Matthew Bales of Enid, Oklahoma and Melissa Fisher & husband Ryan of Evansville, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
