1946 - 2014
Robert Mayo Bernethy, 68, passed into the arms of his heavenly Father on July 26, 2014 after a long illness. He was born in Denison, Texas to Arthur Dale Bernethy and Catherine Payne Bernethy. He is survived by his loving guardians, his sisters and their husbands, Hazel (Bernethy) Means and David (Bud) Means of Denison, Texas, Marty (Bernethy) Walker and George (Joe) Walker of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Our special brother had a courageous spirit who taught us lessons of life, to be thankful for small joys of each day and the power of unconditional love and acceptance.
He was predeceased by both his parents and a sister, Beverly (Bernethy) Mitchell.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 1:30pm at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Chapel with the service to follow at 2pm with Doug Wood officiating.
Our family wishes to specially thank the many caregivers and professionals who have given their support over the years.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory to the Volunteer Services Council of Denton State Supported Living Center, P. O. Box 368, Denton, Texas 76202-0368 would be appreciated.
