Troy H. Edmiaston

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A. M. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Broughton and Rev. Carl Bilderback officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1501 Hwy. 91 N, Denison, TX 75020.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Smith, Tyler Smith, Clyde Todd, Howard Spillman, Billy Edwards and Jerry Maifeld.

Troy was born March 28, 1921 in Hollis, Oklahoma, the son of Homer Edmiaston and Fannie M. Hames Edmiaston. He married Laverne Patterson March 5, 1947 in Duke, Oklahoma. He was an engineer on the Katy Railroad with 40 years service; spent 3 years in the military in WWII; was in the 10th wave of allied soldiers on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1941; and was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Laverne; two daughters Rebecca Maifeld and husband Jerry of Hudson, Iowa, Rhonda Smith of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren Rusty Smith, Tyler Smith, Darcy Smith, Kathy Commander, Carla Edmiaston, Randy Edmiaston, Sam Edmiaston; two sisters Pauline Houchin, Georgia Camp and husband Walter, both of Altus, Oklahoma; brother Frankie Edmiaston of Corsicana, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters and his son.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 W. Acheson, Denison, TX 75020
