Virgle Lee McNutt

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Bratcher Funeral Home.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28 at Bratcher Funeral Home with Rev. H. Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cherry, Kenny Spear, Arnold Ramey, Bubba Stevens, Rodney Owens, Tim Neal, Bruce Lyamace and Chuck Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be all the Masonic brothers of Billie Mosse Lodge #1152 and Lone Star Lodge #403.

Mr. McNutt was born in Denison, Texas, the son of Royal Alvin McNutt and Ida Bell Dunaway. He married Ruby Ford November 15, 1953 in Durant, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1943 and served in central Pacific on Quagline, Marshall Island and Johnston Island.

He retired from Texas Instruments as supervisor of transportation. He was past worshipful master of Travis Lodge in Sherman, Texas. He was still active with Billie Mosse Masonic Lodge in Denison, Texas, where he received the Golden Trowel Award.

Surviving are daughters Karen Dudley & husband Charles of McKinney and Kelly Caplinger of Denison; grandsons Austin Caplinger of Denison and Chris Dudley of Pottsboro; granddaughters Autumn Caplinger of Denison and Sherry Yeargan of Sanger; brother John Melton & wife Barbara of Wichita Falls; sisters Pat Murrin of Sherman & Susan Sims of Portland, Oregon; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife Ruby McNutt; son Ronnie McNutt; mother Ida Bell Melton; father Royal McNutt; sisters Sherry Brown and Betty Fadeley
