Barbara Lee Winder

May 21, 1931 - January 4, 2025

Barbara Lee Adams was born on May 21, 1931, in Lucerne, Colorado and passed away on January 4, 2025. She was 93 years old. She was the fourth daughter of Lon and Leola Adams. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Carol Winder, and three sisters, Ernestine Cox, Betty Adams and Lonnella Boyles. She is survived by her three children, Douglas Winder (Kathy), Connie Winder, and Jeffrey Winder (Theresa), twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Barbara graduated from Greeley Central and went on to obtain her cosmetology license. She opened Barb’s Beauty Bar in Greeley and always took pride in her hair and overall appearance. In fact, her hair curlers were one of her most prized possessions. Barbara spent many years assisting her husband Jerry with his businesses. She also served as a bakery manager for Albertsons grocery stores for over ten years and then later she and Jerry opened a consignment store in Aurora called Barb’s Bargain Boutique.

She was a long time Moose and Eagle member and a Past Madam President of the Aurora Women’s Auxiliary. She and Jerry had endless friends associated with these two organizations and spent many hours enjoying their company.

Barbara’s passing leaves a profound sadness in our hearts. Her spirit and legacy will live on in each of us as we remember her with smiles and stories.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Olinger Hampden Mortuary 8600 E. Hampden Ave, Denver, Colorado followed by snacks and beverages.
