

Crystal Daphene Anderson died a few months short of 100 years old on August 20, 2020. Fred Lee Burrier was her father and Gladys “Opal” Hawley, her mother. They lived in Deertrail and Byers, Colorado, where Fred was an auto-mechanic. At that time, she went by Daphene. Born March 16, 1921 in Holyoke, Co., she had two brothers, Adrian and Kenneth; and two sisters, Barbara and DeLois.
Crystal was valedictorian of her high school class of 12, in Deertrail. She went to college at C.U. until WWII started. During the war she worked at Remington at the Federal Center with her father testing ammunition. After the war, she completed nursing school at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver.
On March 23,1947, Crystal married Clifford “Pat” Holmes Anderson. They had one son, William “Bill” Terrill Anderson, who married Claudia Alana Campbell.
Crystal’s first job as an R.N. after graduation was at Presbyterian Hospital, where she became a charge nurse. She worked at Children’s Hospital in Denver for a few years. Then, she worked at Porter Hospital in Denver on the Peds & Teens Unit and Psych Ward, about 20 years.
Crystal enjoyed: cooking, gardening, fishing, raising Sheltie dogs and playing with her grand-children and great- grandchildren.
Crystal is survived by: one sister, DeLois Carleton; a son, Bill Anderson; three grandchildren, Alana Childre, Travis, and Joel; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Evan.
