

88, passed away on Sunday May 27, 2012 at Collier Hospice after a lingering illness and home hospice care. He was born in Denver on April 29, 1924 to Edith Caroline and Thomas Carlton Koogle. He graduated from South High School in Denver and proudly served in the United States Army Pacific Theater during World War II, where he received 2 Purple Hearts from injuries during combat. He was preceded in death by his wife Nina and his 3 brothers and 6 sisters. He is survived by 2 sons, Stephen and Richard Koogle; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Don was a past president of the Denver Typographical Union and retired from the Denver Post as Superintendent of the Composing Room. He was a member of the Arvada Elks and the Arvada Masonic Temple number 141. He was a devout Denver Broncos fan since 1968. He served as president of the Vista Village Residents Council for many years.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday June 5th 10:30 AM at the Olinger Moore-Howard Chapel 4345 West 46th Avenue, Denver CO with a 12:15 PM Inurnment at Fort Logan National Cemetery staging area C.
